Last year, I created a little series of videos on my YouTube channel where I read out sections and chapters of Lon Safko’s book ‘The Social Media Bible’. I chose chapters that I thought were particularly useful and gave good advice about social media marketing and online branding, to help you.

The videos received good feedback and as I result, I have been contacted to do audio interviews, guest article writing and  was even contacted by Lon himself, who said he loved them!

This shows the power of using online video in your marketing. If you’re not using it already to promote your business or any worthy cause, belief or even just to produce a welcome video for  your social media profiles, then I strongly suggest you do so.

So, I had the idea that I resurrect my ‘reading with Laura’ sessions lol and here’s the first video below.

I am calling these videos ‘Inspiring Books’ and this time around, I will be reading chapters and sections form a variety of books, not just one, on a whole range of topics – from health, business, goal setting, spirituality, marketing – all designed to both inspire you and help you in life and business.

So check out the first book I’m reading from, it’s a great read and gives sound advice. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Great idea Laura! You’re so creative in how you share your knowledge and interests. Love the book and the excerpt you chose. Too true! Down with stress! Fantastic!

Cheers Teen! There’ll be lots more, I’ve got a great book collection that has been somewhat redundant for the past few months or so lol :-)

    Excellent stuff Laura :-)

Exercise is a massive stress buster – I try to either go to the gym or for a walk every day (it was a walk today!). One of the few downsides to running an online business is that you can suffer from a touch of cabin fever every so often so getting out and about is definitely a top tip.

Looking forward to future editions of Reading With Laura!

    Cheers, Rob

      Thanks Rob :-)
Yes – cabin fever lol. I have a a big check-box chart on my wall which literally tells me to walk, exercise, go and meet other human beings lol!
To stop me getting too entrenched in my work and stuck on my computer all day and night!! Sad hey but true.
Next edition up very shortly :-)

Another great video. I have always admired my best friend who is a correspondent for Dutch television in the USA for his ability to handle an enormous amount of stress. I myself do not like stress at all and I have arranged a very nice and stressless life for myself with a lot of excersise. I have a great life! Now, because of your video, I also feel good about not wanting to be able to handle a lot of stress.
Your spontaneity does very well on video! Am looking forward to new videos.
