Healthy Living Through The Alkaline Diet

Hi my friend, welcome to my site. I’m Laura Wilson, natural health expert Nutritionist and author of ‘The Alkaline 5 Diet’.

I can help you achieve a slim, healthy, pain-free body and live with abundant energy and vitality.

I am passionate about helping YOU achieve great health and avoid the pitfalls of the unhealthy world we live in today. You could say I am obsessed about researching, living and teaching natural health practices and following a plant-based ‘alkaline diet’. I would just say that I am committed to and consistent with living a clean and healthy lifestyle, keeping my body in good shape and working order and helping others to do the same.

How I Can Help You

I provide online resources, videos, books and 1-1 coaching that can help you if you want to do one or more of the following things: Lose Weight, Eat Big, Heal Disease, Look Beautiful (or Buff!), Increase Energy, Lift Mood, Enhance Performance, Feel Amazing.

Let me explain more about what I mean. Here is what the diet and health practices I have developed can do for you…

Lose Weight – A low-fat, plant-based diet has been scientifically proven to work with your body’s natural and optimum ‘acid-alkaline pH balance’ and also to turn off your fat genes. Sound unbelievable? Well it’s actually a scientifically-proven fact by extremely credible and independent medical research studies by people like Dr Neal Barnard, President of The Physician’s Committee For responsible Medicine (PCRM) and who wrote the foreword to my book.

laura-wilson-alklaine-5-diet-in-gardenEat Big – I don’t know about you but I like to EAT. I’m not into calorie restricting or eating small meals. But I also want to remain lean and toned. A low-fat, plant based diet allows you to eat delicious meals and in bigger portions, because of the high fibre content and because plant carbohydrates only contain 4 calories per gram compared to fat with 9 calories per gram.

Heal Disease – When you eat a plant-based alkaline diet, you work in harmony with your body’s natural healing processes. In fact, it was proven in the 1930’s by Nobel Prize winning scientist Otto Warburg, that disease cannot thrive when your body is in alkaline balance. So alkalizing is like a health insurance policy.

You also have a far greater chance of preventing the nasty diseases – such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer – that are associated with the Standard Western Diet of animal products and processed foods.

Look Beautiful (or Buff!) – When you eat a healthy alkaline diet, it beautifies you: You get brighter eyes, shinier hair, stronger nails, clear and smooth skin, less wobbly bits and you smell nice, naturally. I regularly get told that I look around 10 years younger than my actual age and that is not unusual when you follow this type of diet and lifestyle.

Increase Energy – This is the most energising diet going. You can have steady and sustained, all-day energy from early morning til bedtime, without caffeine or other stimulants. You’ll likely find that you naturally want to exercise more, as a result of your extra energy.

Lift Mood – One of the things most diet ‘experts’ don’t tell you when they recommend their latest faddy diet, is the negative effect it will have on your mood and mental well being. Take the Paleo diet or Atkins diet, or even the 5:2, these diets promote ups and downs in your mood and will leave you feeling fatigued and can even cause you to crash and burn. The alkaline diet will help you to feel really good and get into a good, positive head space, where your brain and body are well-nourished and therefore giving you a sense of contentment and natural happiness.

Enhance Performance – If you’re an athlete or a body-builder, then the alkaline diet can help you get quicker, reduce body fat, increase lean muscle mass and improve your agility. Why? Because when your body is carbed-up and nourished with an abundance of vitamins, minerals and live plant enzymes, you perform at your peak. It’s like high-octane rocket fuel for humans.

Maybe you’re not an athlete but a busy parent or have a demanding job or business. This diet will also supply you with the energy and mindset that you need to perform at your best too.

Feel Amazing – Put all of the benefits listed above together and the net result is that you feel pretty good about your body and life on a day-to-day, moment-by-moment basis. Better still, it’s sustainable over the long term and totally natural.

About Laura Wilson

In 2008, I founded this site and and have since built a global community of over 20,000 people who are interested in the alkaline diet and how it can optimise their health. In 2012 I organised and hosted The Natural Health & Vitality Conferenceheld in Dartington Hall in Devon (UK) with 6 international experts in health and nutrition and had great feedback from attendees.

dd-laura-finish-2014bI have run over 30 endurance running races and triathlons, including 12 marathon distances in a year and one 32-mile ultra-marathon.

As you can probably tell, I am passionate about fitness and health but it hasn’t always been that way. Whilst I was a student at university, I was an overweight, lethargic smoker – eating fast food daily and drinking alcohol several nights per week.

I had a minor health scare in 1999 that led me to make some major shifts in my diet and lifestyle and got me onto the path of research into optimum health.

Since then I have qualified as a Nutritionist and as an Advanced Gym Instructor and worked as manager of health research for my local health organisation for two years – writing governmental health research reports in my role.

In 2007, I left to set up my own health website and events and to write my books – Alkaline Diet Vitality & The Alkaline 5 Diet.

Having tried many different diets and approaches to fitness & health over the years, I found a predominantly raw, fruit and vegetable-based alkaline diet to be the best for optimum health, weight loss and anti-aging.

From the energy and vitality I gained from living an alkaline lifestyle, I become an avid endurance athlete – competing in over 30 distance running races, including Paris Marathon, London Olympic Triathlon and, most recently, running a 32-mile ultra-marathon and two moorland marathons in a month, coming 7th lady in one of them.

I consider the pursuit of optimum health a lifelong mission and have coached not only myself and friends and family in how to lead an infinitely healthier life by embracing alkaline foods and lifestyle but also thousands of people around the world who message me every week to say they have improved their diet and health thanks to my website and help.

On a personal note – I live in Devon in the UK and like to spend my spare time singing as a soprano and performing concerts in a philharmonic choir, attending and helping out in my church, traveling abroad when I can and spending time with my family and friends.
